What has changed from the 2020 Optima?
The K5 has arrived in Canada and one thing is certain, this isn’t your parent's old family sedan. Driving performance and driver enjoyment are at the heart of every Kia vehicle and the K5 is no different. The entry-level K5 comes equipped with the more powerful 178 horsepower/195 lb-ft of torque 1.6L turbo engine that was the top of the line engine choice from the Optima in 2020. The new top of line engine option on the GT trim is the awe-inspiring 2.5L turbo that packs an incredible 295 horsepower/311 lb-ft of torque. On top of engine power, the 2021 K5 now has AWD as an option, giving vehicle shoppers the ability to further customize their Kia to combat bad road conditions. Finally, the styling of the 2021 K5 has a more aggressive look with a restyled body featuring an iconic looking front grille. This striking sedan is perfect for anyone looking to arrive in style while having fun along the way.
What Are the Critics Saying About the 2021 Kia K5?
Much has been made about the bold statement in the recent video ad for the Kia K5. Kia boasts the K5 GT can out handle and out accelerate the BMW 330i, all while being priced for considerably less ($39,995 for the K5 GT versus $49,350 for the more expensive 330i) than its BMW competitor. The lucky few customers who have been able to get their hands on the K5 are raving about the styling and fun offered by the K5. All of this combined with the one of the best warranties, bar none gives the Kia K5 an unfair competitive advantage over the competition.
