The 2022 Kia EV6 was just named Best Electric SUV by U.S. News & World Report. This award continues the EV6 dominance over the electric vehicle market since its release earlier this year.
About the Award
To determine the winner in each category, U.S. News analyzed each vehicle’s:
- starting price
- Level 2 charging rate
- EPA fuel economy and range estimates
- overall score
82 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles were under consideration. The winners had the best combination of quality, value, and efficiency in their segment.
The EV6 impresses with its incredible versatility, offering 27.7 cubic feet of trunk capacity and 53.5 cubic feet of room with the back seats folded down. On top of this, passengers can store small items in the front trunk (frunk) of the vehicle.
On top of its flexibility, the EV6 punches above its price with its up 499KM range, and Kia’s rapid charging battery which can charge from 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes. The EV6’s battery can even charge other electronic devices, including large devices like appliances or even another electric vehicle.
“We’ve seen a lot of growth in the electric SUV segment this year, and the all-new Kia EV6 is a top choice with a comfortable and attractive interior, as well as a comprehensive suite of active safety features,” said Jim Sharifi, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars.
“Perhaps the biggest selling point, however, is the EV6’s exceptional driving range of up to 310 miles (499 km).”
Driving enthusiasts can look forward to the upcoming release of the EV6 GT, which will offer an incredible 576 horsepower of electric-powered joy.
