The Telluride: Titan of Towing
If you’re looking for a Kia SUV which will get the job done when you need to hitch up a trailer, look no further than that mighty Kia Telluride. Bold and rugged, the Telluride has the size, power, and capability to do some of the best towing you’ll find in a Kia SUV. Properly equipped, the Telluride X-Pro will tow as much as 5,500 lbs! Even the entry level EX has the power to tow 5,000 lbs.
Mid-Range Towing: The Carnival and Sorento
If you’re looking for a solid family vehicle which can also do a little towing, both the high-end Kia Sorento X-Pro, with its suped-up 2.5L Turbo 4 Cylinder GDI engine, and the minivan-adjacent Kia Carnival SUV are able to tow up to 3,500 lbs. Don’t sell short the regular Sorento, or the Carnival hybrid, though. They can still hitch up a respectable amount of trailer weight if the need arises.
Not Recommended
Not every SUV is designed for towing. The subcompact Kia Seltos and the crossover Kia Niro are both excellent commuter vehicles, agile and efficient for daily driving, and they’re more than capable of hitting the highway for extended journeys, but they aren’t recommended for towing.
