Winner of the 2020 World Urban Car of the Year, the Kia Soul is one to keep on your list. It’s is a 5-seater subcompact crossover SUV that first hit Canadian roads in 2009.
The Soul sits in the SUV line-up at about the same size as Kia Niro, but smaller than the Kia Seltos. It sits higher than the Niro, and has slightly smaller trunk space. But if you’re looking for cargo with benefits – the Soul has a trunk floor that raises or lowers depending on your needs (110+ litres difference).

As of 2023, Kia has retired the Kia Soul EV as it revs up its revamped electric offerings with the likes of the EV9 and EV6, and soon to come EV3 (2026 est.), EV4 (2026 est.), and EV5 (2026 est.).
